DIES

SILENCE.
In few other words are longing and discomfort so closely intertwined. While some find silence soothing, others long for nothing more than to break it. Diēs seeks to make this inner conflict perceptible and to draw attention to the unspoken and the invisible. The composer Jane Dickson writes for two vocalists, clarinet, cello, and trumpet. Linguistically, the unspoken is made perceptible through various textual fragments.
